Branson's commitment to environmental stewardship extends beyond our products and facility walls into the communities where we live and work.

In Danbury, we are proud to support and participate in the Still River Alliance, a consortium of public and private groups dedicated to the creation and maintenance of a greenway along portions of this 22-mile long Housatonic River tributary. Branson employees have volunteered time and energy to this important project. In June 2004, we proudly participated in the dedication of the Still River History Wall, which illustrates the transformation of the river from a polluted industrial waterway to a healthy, ecologically rich local resource.

We work to make the environment healthier and our communities more sustainable in many other ways as well. For example:

• We promote strong environmental business practices as a member of the Environmental Policy Council of the Connecticut Business Industry Association.
  
  
• We support the next generation of environmental leaders by making direct financial contributions to local schools and universities, by providing a variety of internship opportunities, and by offering our facilities to students as a “laboratory” for investigating environmentally sustainable business practices.

• We are actively and regularly involved in promoting health and safety and general community well-being through organizations such as the United Way of Northern Fairfield County.
